There is something beautiful about the beginning of a new week.
Mondays often arrive with calendars to fill, emails to answer, errands to run, and responsibilities waiting for our attention. Before long, we’re focused on what’s next without taking time to appreciate what just happened.
But what if we paused for a moment?
What if, before rushing into a new week, we looked back over the one we just lived?
As I looked back over this past week and began a new one, I realized something.
The moments that brought me the greatest joy weren’t extraordinary at all. They were simple. They were intentional. And they were absolutely worth remembering.
🍕 Delight #1: Friday Night Pizza
We recently discovered Partners II Pizza in downtown Woodstock, and it has quickly become one of our favorite Friday night traditions. Tom and I love grabbing a table on the back porch, slowing down after the workweek, and enjoying a simple meal together. Our favorite server, Kimberly, always greets us with a smile, and somehow pizza tastes even better when it’s shared outside on a warm Georgia evening.
There was no special occasion—just good food, easy conversation, and the reminder that some of life’s sweetest moments are wonderfully ordinary.
🚤 Delight #2: A Day on the Boat
There is something about being on the water that quiets the noise.
No rushing. No schedules. Just sunshine, gentle waves, and the reminder that sometimes the best thing we can do is simply be present.
Life doesn’t always have to move at full speed. Sometimes our souls need calm more than they need accomplishment.
📚 Delight #3: Finishing Something That Needed Finishing
I finished my continuing education courses for my real estate license renewal while relaxing on the couch with Tom and watching a Netflix series.
Not glamorous. Not exciting. But deeply satisfying.
There is a quiet kind of joy that comes from completing something you’ve been meaning to finish. Sometimes progress looks exactly like that—not dramatic, just faithful.
The Beauty of Looking Back
None of these moments would ever make the evening news. None of them cost a fortune. None of them would seem remarkable to anyone else. But together, they tell the story of a week well lived.
I’ve learned that gratitude grows when we notice the little things before they become forgotten things.
Maybe that’s one of the secrets to designing a life we love—not by waiting for extraordinary moments to arrive, but by recognizing the beauty that quietly slips into ordinary days.
So before you move too quickly into this new week, I have a question for you.
What are three delights worth remembering from your past week?
Write them down. Share them with someone you love. Or simply hold them close in your heart.
You may discover that your life is already richer than you realized.
Design a life you love—deliberately.
Until next week…
Krissy
